The Byers

The Journey Church of Cedar Springs Michigan launched Norm and Brenda Byers and their children in the summer of 2004 to start Genesis. Originally from the west Michigan area, both Norm and Brenda graduated as Communications majors in college, and between them have ministered in cross-cultural, college and local-church settings. Norm has a Master of Divinity from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary and was ordained in 1999.

The Woodalls:

Jamie and Kristie Woodall joined our team this past January 2008.  Some things the Woodall's really enjoy are family camping, David Crowder, U2, most all sports, Lord of the Rings, and outdoor adventure. Jamie has his Masters of Divinity from Bible Seminary in Clarks Summit, PA while Kristie has her Bachelor degree in Elementary Education.  Their title here at Genesis is "Resident Church Planters."  This means that they will be the next couple to go out from Genesis to plant in another location.  Jamie and Kristie have 4 children.  If you are interested in learning more about a Starting Point group, then take a moment to contact Jamie with how you can be involved.

Heather:

Heather Van Haitsma is the Director of Connections here at Genesis. She enjoys welcoming new people and helping them find their place at Genesis. She also heads up the Activities Committee, planning monthly connectors and community outreach events.  If you have questions about becoming part of a small group (BLOC), or about other ways to get connected, she is a good person to seek out.  You can usually find her on Sunday mornings nearby the information table or giving the latest news about upcoming events.  She can also be reached a heather@genesiswired.com.

Dan:

Dan has been with Genesis since the beginning.  He has been in charge of youth activities for the past two years.  We are a growing church and more and more things are happening with the youth.  Dan also heads up our annual Dodgeball Tournament every March.  Be sure to congratulate Dan, he is getting married to a wonderful gal (our own Amy Blomberg) in June!

Sharon:

Sharon and Bob take care of the secretarial work here at Genesis.  Their attention to detail is greatly appreciated!
